Bernadette Peters

 Bernadette Peters (nee Lazzara ) born February 28th, 1948) is an American actor, singer and children's book writer. In her career of six decades, she has been on TV, in film and musical theatre. She also gave concert performances on her own as well as recorded. The critically well-known Broadway performer she has been awarded seven Tony Awards nominations, winning two (plus an honorary award) and nine Drama Desk Award nominations. She received three. Grammy Awards have been won by four of the Broadway album cast where she has performed.



 



 Peters is widely regarded as the most prominent interpreter of the works of Stephen Sondheim. Her roles on Broadway include Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (84), Song and Dance (1985), Into the Woods with George (87), The Goodbye Girl(93), Annie Get Your Gun 1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2009), Follies (2011) and Hello, Dolly (2018).
